The Power of Help: A favourite subject of mine
This feels a little like a Jerry Maguire moment and his late night mission statement on "the things we think and do not say"....now what could go wrong with this? What the hell here I go...

Help is an intensely interesting subject to me. It forms the heart of human relationships whether in business or personal. It also transcends cultural boundaries and is something incredibly personal to all of us. It's not just an act of kindness it goes way beyond and could be agued that we're only ever truly happy when we're helping another.
Let's break it down further Jerry!
Receiving Help
Have you ever been offered help and yet it hasn't turned out to be help? From here it's very easy to feel betrayed and be wary moving forward. Yet do we really want to be suspicious of others from the start or instead openly trusting of new acquaintences and opportunities? The world at large would have us not trust others and yet wouldnt it be better to start from a position of a belief in others genuine and sincere intentions until proven otherwise?
And then there's Helping Others...
"Help me to help you Rod!!!" Equally as important as receiving help is the act of giving it. In fact as mentioned above I personally believe it's far more satisfying to help another than to receive help. That's the best pay there is in life - knowing you genuinely made a difference to another. Don't you feel so good when you do that? I can't understand why we wouldn't go "all in" on that idea?
Today's Society
Sadly I think as a society we're pretty screwed up on the subject of help. At every turn it's not "what can I do for another" but more "how can I win and screw the other person".
In our daily world of Property & Finance and 20+ years of being in that space I've witnessed too many instances of greed and complete disreguard for the other side of the transaction.
Conclusion
Help, in all its forms, is integral to life. It bridges divides, nurtures connections, and catalyzes both personal and societal growth. Whether it is offering a hand to someone in need or graciously accepting assistance ourselves, help remains a fundamental element of what it means to be human. In a world that often feels fragmented and divisive, the simple act of helping—of lifting each other up—has the power to create lasting change, one small gesture at a time.
So, the next time you’re faced with an opportunity to help, remember that you’re not just changing someone’s life—you’re shaping the future for all of us.
Now tell me did I .....have you at hello?
